Welcome to St.
Martin de Porres: Study, Live, and Serve!
Thank you for seeking the gift of Infant Baptism for your child (0-6 years old). Please review carefully the following requirements and steps to begin the baptismal process at St. Martin de Porres.
Baptism is the first sacrament all Christians receive and is the first step towards full membership in the body of Christ. Through Baptism we are freed from sin, become children of God and members of the body of Christ, and become sharers in the Gospel mission.
Infant Baptism Preparation Requirements: For Parents:
Complete the Parent Registration Form.
At least one parent must be a practicing, active Catholic committed to raising the child in the Catholic faith.
Both parents are expected to attend the Baptism Preparation Class. If this is not possible, at least one parent must attend the Baptism Preparation Class.
Parents must be registered, contributing parishioners, or live within the parish boundaries.
If parents live outside our boundaries, please submit a Pastoral Letter or Permission Form (with parish seal and pastor’s signature) from your home parish.
St. Martin de Porres will be your child’s Church of Record for life, recording all future sacraments.
Sacraments are not celebrated during Lent or other designated liturgical times. (Excluding emergencies such as danger of death).
We are blessed to accompany your family on this sacred journey. Please contact us if you have any questions or need guidance as you prepare for your child’s baptism.
